| Spanish abstract | Este artículo describe las culturas musicales ligadas a 572 videos subidos a YouTube por habitantes de tres pequeñas comunidades mexicanas con presencia de migración internacional, ubicadas en los estados de Sinaloa, Querétaro y Zacatecas. El acercamiento a las culturas musicales se realiza a través del análisis de contenido y por medio de un sistema clasificatorio construido a través de matrices de culturas musicales que aquí se proponen. El texto también se cuestiona sobre la relación entre música y migración, y sobre el papel que está cumpliendo YouTube y otras redes sociales digitales en la construcción de la identidad y la cultura de los migrantes internacionales. Al final se reflexiona sobre el significado de la hegemonía que mantiene la matriz "rural-urbana" de culturas musicales sobre las tres poblaciones estudiadas |
| English abstract | This article describes musical cultures linked to 572 videos uploaded to YouTube by residents of three small Mexican communities with international migration in the states of Sinaloa, Querétaro and Zacatecas. The approach to musical cultures is carried out by means of content analysis and a classification system built through "musical cultural matrices" proposed here. Thanks to both instruments we can answer questions concerning the main types of music played in the videos and the matrices to which they belong. The article also questions about the relationship between music and migration, and the role played by YouTube and other online social networks in the construction of international migrants' identity and culture. Finally, the article wonders about the meaning of the hegemony of the musical cultures "rural-urban" matrix over the three examined populations |
