| Spanish abstract | La belleza, de acuerdo con Ibn Arabi, se pronuncia a los hombres en dos maneras: por un lado, mediante la elevación y poder de la presencia divina, llamada Majestad de la Belleza, a la cual debemos responder mediante un íntimo estado espiritual para conseguir el balance durante la contemplación y la correcta aprehensión; y por otro lado, a través de la proximidad, un aspecto de la belleza, que debe ser recibido con temor a una respuesta apropiada de la expansión de Dios hacia nosotros, logrando en consecuencia nuestra reunión con Él. Aquellos que aman por el amor divino, contemplan el eco de la sabiduría tanto en el universo como en sí mismos. Ibn Arabi también explicó la aplicación de estos nombres en la lectura del Corán. El Profeta sostuvo la importancia del embellecimiento espiritual conseguido mediante una correcta conducta y la contemplación de la belleza, esta última caracterizada por hacer de todas las cosas algo deleitable y cognoscible. Todo se inclina a ser amado por sí, pero esto sólo es posible por la realidad de la divinidad: dado que Dios creó el mundo a Su imagen, se considera como un espejo en el que Él se contempla y se ama a Sí mismo |
| English abstract | Beauty, according to Ibn Arabi, is attributed to men in two ways: on one hand, by the elevation and power of the divine presence, named Majesty of Beauty, to which we must respond through an intimate spiritual state as to accomplish balance during both contemplation and a correct apprehension; and, on the other hand, through proximity, an aspect of Beauty, that should be received with fear as a proper response to God's expansion towards us, hence achieving our gathering with Him. Those who love because of the divine love contemplate the wisdom echoed in both in the universe as well as in themselves. Ibn Arabi also explained the application of these names to the reading of the Koran. The Prophet endorsed the importance of spiritual embellishment achieved through a correct conduct and the contemplation of Beauty, characterized by making all things delectable and knowledgeable. Everything is inclined to be self loved, but this is only possible because of divinity’s reality: since God created the world to His image, it is considered as a mirror in which He contemplates and loves Himself |
