| Spanish abstract | Estimados colegas de la SMCS: El Dr. Jorge Etchevers y a un servidor nos pareció buena idea documentar el esfuerzo que han realizado cada uno de los editores de la Revista Terra Latinoamericana para llegar a donde ha llegado. Un esfuerzo de 50 años se escribe fácil, pero ha sido toda una epopeya, desde su fundación por el Dr. Antonio Turrent Fernández, quien con gran dedicación y esfuerzo puso las bases para lograr la fundación de la revista. Colegas como el Dr. Mario Martínez Menes nos ayudaron desde las esferas de gobierno en los momentos más difíciles de la revista. Todos los editores jugaron un papel fundamental para mantener la revista viva y pujante. A estos editores les debemos muchísimo los investigadores del área de edafología y recursos naturales. En este orden de ideas, nos tomamos la libertad de pedir a los editores el testimonio de su trabajo para poder llegar a donde ha llegado esta revista científica, la cual está ya muy cerca de ser aceptada en el JCR, con lo que pasará a ser una revista de talla internacional. Consideramos que por ser dos pilares importantes en la revista y que jugaron un papel importante en la misma, decidimos incluir los testimonios de nuestras queridas Ina Aalmers y Rosa María López Atilano. Vale la pena leer los testimonios de cada editor. Vaya para todos ello(a)s nuestro eterno agradecimiento |
| English abstract | Dear SMCS colleagues: Dr. Jorge Etchevers and a server thought it was a good idea to document the effort made by each of the editors of Terra Latinoamericana magazine to get where you arrived. A 50-year effort is easy to write, but it has been an epic, since its foundation by Dr. Antonio Turrent Fernández, who with great dedication and effort laid the foundations to achieve the magazine. Colleagues like Dr. Mario Martínez Menes helped us from the spheres of government in the most difficult moments of the magazine. All the editors played a key role in keeping the magazine alive and thriving. To these editors we owe a lot to the researchers in the area of soil science and natural resources. In this order of ideas, we take the liberty of asking the editors for the testimony of their work in order to get where this scientific journal has come, which is already very close to being accepted into the JCR, which will become a magazine of international stature. We consider that because they are two important pillars in the magazine and that they played an important role in it, we decided to include the testimonies of our beloved Ina Aalmers and Rosa María López Atilano.
