| English abstract | We observed anticipatory representations as guides for action and social transformation to face situations of social pressure. 185 students from public high schools, ethnically self-defined whether as Whites, Blacks or Mixed people took part in this research. We drew upon a questionnaire simulating social pressure perpetrated by father, brother, neighbour, friend, teacher, schoolmate, workmate. They were also required to convey their expectancies regarding what others could do in order to spare them from pressure; and what would then their reaction be like. Blacks stressed negotiation among equals (with father, schoolmate, teacher, brother, boss and neighbour); whereas Whites advantage for the participant (schoolmate, teacher, neighbour); and Whites and Mixed-People (workmate, brother, boss). There was correspondence between anticipatory representations of negotiation among equals and acceptation, as well as between advantage for the participant and refusal of pressure. We noticed that anticipatory representations shape representations of objects/issues when interactions are taking place. This implies to take up the subject-alter-object model to study social representations |
| Portuguese abstract | Observamos representações antecipatórias como "guia-para-ação" e "transformação social" para enfrentar situações simuladas de pressão social. Participaram 185 estudantes de escolas públicas, autodefinidos como brancos, negros e morenos. Utilizamos um questionário simulando interações de pressão social recebida do pai, irmão, vizinho, amigo, professora, colega de escola, patrão e colega de trabalho; os participantes responderam o que esperariam que os outros fizessem para não pressioná-los e como eles agiriam. Os negros ressaltaram mais negociação entre iguais (do pai, colega de escola, professora, irmão, patrão e vizinho); os brancos, vantagem para o participante (colega de escola, professora, vizinho) e, brancos e morenos (colega de trabalho, irmão, patrão). Houve correspondências entre representações antecipatórias de negociação entre iguais e aceitação, bem como vantagem para o participante e recusa da pressão. Constatamos que as representações antecipatórias formam representações sobre objetos/assuntos quando interações estão ocorrendo. Isto implica em retomar o modelo sujeito-alter-objeto para estudar representações sociais |
