English abstract | The incorporation of words that come from cora and other indigenous languages in documents written in spanish during the XVIII Century are analyzed in this Research Article. The analysis was carried out in documents originally written by different authors during that century (Meyer, 1989; Bugarín, 1993). The analysis evidenced a series of strategies employed by the writers to make sure that the readers of the documents, spanish speakers, understood indigenous words that described autochthonous entities (natural items, artifacts and verbs), such as the use of loanwords and bicultural signs |
