| English abstract | Among the Sanumá, a subgroup of the northern Yanomami, death takes on the dimensions of “social dramas”. As practically all the deaths are provoked intentionally by someone, the deaths expose and intensely reinterpret the conflicts accumulated between the deceased and their enemies. These reinterpretations are interspersed with crying, gossip and irate speeches.
