| Spanish abstract | La expansión de los pueblos que serán después conocidos como Guaraní era considerable en la época precolonial, como hace ver Curt Nimuendaju en su Mapa Etno-histórico. Dentro del proceso colonial, al mismo tiempo que ocurría la desaparición de muchos grupos, otros eran llevados a convertirse en Guaraní genéricos, asimilados al mundo colonial. Con la aparición de los Estados modernos los Guaraní se han visto distribuidos entre Brasil, Paraguay, Argentina y Bolivia, que tienden a crear para ellos políticas diferentes que dividen incluso a los de una misma etnia. Todos los Guaraní tienen ahora su “muro de Berlín” que los mantiene separados y fragmentados |
| English abstract | Curt Nimuendaju’s ethno-historical map demonstrates that the expansion of the people that later on would be known as the Guarani was of paramount importance in the pre-colonial period. Within the colonial process, at the same time as certain human groups were being eliminated, others became generic Guarani assimilated into the colonial world. Although the Guarani distributed themselves in Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Bolivia on the emergence of these modern states, the latter have different policies that even separate those who belong to the same ethnic branch. Such division actually gives the Guarani their “Berlin wall” which keeps them separated and fragmented |
