| Spanish abstract | En este trabajo se definen los términos de complejidad e incertidumbre apoyándose en aportaciones de la física y la biología y, a partir de ellos, se intenta determinar el significado psicológico de ambos conceptos. Se proponen varias hipótesis: a) cuando un ser humano se enfrenta a la incertidumbre del entorno, responde anticipando la interacción entre los cambios que pudieran darse en el mismo y las posibilidades de su repertorio conductual; b) los estímulos y situaciones que universalmente son conocidos como belleza (simetría y repetición ordenada de los objetos en el espacio o en el tiempo) tienen en común la función discriminativa de señalar la ocasión en que la probabilidad de cambio en el entorno es baja. Una consecuencia de ello pudiera ser que la disposición simétrica de los estímulos desempeña la función de reducir la percepción de incertidumbre y los estados de ansiedad. Finalmente, se formulan algunos postulados derivados del presente estudio, y se proponen posibles estrategias de investigación con el objeto de confi rmar o refutar el conocimiento sugerido en el mismo |
| English abstract | In this work the terms of complexity and uncertainty are defi ned based on contributions of the physics and the biology and, from them, the psychological meaning of both concepts is tried to determine. Several hypothesis are proposed: a) when a human being faces to the uncertainty of the environment, he responds advancing the interaction among the changes that could be given in the same one and the possibilities of his behavioural repertoire; b) the stimuli and situations universally known as beauty (symmetry and orderly repetition of the objects in the space or in the time) have in common the discriminative function to indicate the occasion in which the probability of change in the environment is low. A consequence of it could be that the symmetrical disposition of the stimuli performs the function to reduce the perception of uncertainty and the states of anxiety. Finally, some derived postulates of the present study are formulated, and possible investigation strategies are proposed with the purpose to confi rm or to refute the knowledge suggested in the same one |
