| Spanish abstract | El propósito de este trabajo es describir las diversas formas en que los adolescentes trabajadores vivencian sus masculinidades a partir del significado de ser hombre y la tipificación del otro, distinto de uno mismo. Para ello, se realizaron entrevistas a profundidad a 20 adolescentes trabajadores entre 15 y 19 años de dos distritos de Lima. Los hallazgos señalan la importancia de la presencia materna y de la ausencia paterna en la construcción de sus identidades. A esto se agregan elementos como el modelado del cuerpo, los accesorios y trajes, que actúan como mecanismos constitutivos de las masculinidades. Por otro lado, el machismo y la homosexualidad actúan como categorías opuestas y son, a su vez, constitutivas de las masculinidades. Se concluye que persiste la existencia de una masculinidad hegemónica, así como otras formas de ser y vivir las otras masculinidades |
| English abstract | This paper describes the different forms in which teenagers live their masculinities from the meaning of being a man and the typification of the other, different from the self. Twenty in-depth interviews were carried out with working teenagers of 15 to 19 years of age in two districts of Lima. Findings reveal the importance of the motherly presence and the paternal absence in the construction of identities. This adds to elements such as body modeling, accessories, and outfits, which act as constitutive mechanisms of masculinities. On the other hand, machismo and homosexuality act as opposite categories and are, at the same time, constitutive of masculinities. It is concluded that there is a hegemonic masculinity as well as other ways of being and living the other masculinities |
