| Spanish abstract | El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar de qué manera están elaborados, en Ángeles del abismo de Enrique Serna y Monja y casada, virgen y mártir de Vicente Riva Palacio, los recursos de la novela histórica de tema colonial. Además, se examina la relación intertextual entre los dos autores y se señalan los fragmentos y personajes que se presentan en ambas obras con el fin de explicar y diferenciar los mecanismos de la novela histórica tradicional de los de la nueva novela histórica mexicana |
| English abstract | The purpose of this article is to analyze the resources of the historical novel of colonial theme in Enrique Serna’s Ángeles del abismo and Monja y casada, virgen y mártir by Vicente Riva Palacio to see how they are constructed. An examination will be made into the intertextual relationship between these authors besides pointing to those fragments and characters that appear in both works, with the finality of explaining and differentiating the mechanisms of the traditional historical novel from those of the Mexican new historical novel |
