| English abstract | This article discusses the formation of The Comedians group in the 1930s, inserting it within the artistic proposals and actions of the Association of Brazilian Artists (AAB). Thus, notes for a fundamental period in the design of artistic and intellectual projects and debates, that would bring reverberations in the “gestation” of the theatrical group known as the founder of Brazilian modern theater, are presented. Looking for fragments of the Association, a dynamic cultural environment, promoting circulations of ideas, consecrations and sociabilities, on aims at outlining social processes, artistic imaginations and practices that allow us to glimpse projects and work mechanisms. Thus, thinking about the theo-retical, social, political, and spatial conformations around which the AAB was articulated, allows us to characterize it as an exemplary cut of a cultural field |
| Portuguese abstract | O artigo discute a formação do grupo Os Comediantes na década de 1930, inserindo-o no seio das propostas e ações artísticas da Asso-ciação dos Artistas Brasileiros (AAB). Apresentamse, assim, apontamentos para um período fundamental no que se refere ao delineamento de projetos e debates artísticos e intelectuais que trariam reverberações na "gestação" do grupo teatral conhecido como fundador do teatro bra-sileiro moderno. Buscando os fragmentos da associação, um ambiente cultural dinâmico, propiciador de circulações de ideias, consagrações e sociabilidades, objetivase o delineamento de processos sociais, imaginações artísticas e práticas que permitam entrever projetos e meca-nismos de trabalho. Desse modo, pensar as conformações teóricas, sociais, políticas e espaciais em torno das quais se articulava a AAB permite caracterizá-la como recorte exemplar de um campo cultural |
