English abstract | A group formed by theater students and teachers from the State University of Paraná (UNESPAR) and another formed by teachers and students from the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) of the municipal school network attend, purposely, the same spectacle, on the same day: A maldita raça humana [The damn human race], by Companhia Teatro de Breque, at the Novelas Curitibanas theater, in Curitiba/PR, Brazil. Is there a more or a less specialized audience for the contemporary theater reception? Who is this public? What’s the show? Reflections on the notion of spectator and audience are addressed in this article, in dialogue with researchers Leonel Martins Carneiro, Mervant-Roux and Óscar Cornago |
