| Spanish abstract | La presente investigación tiene por objeto estudiar el papel desempeñado por un grupo de mujeres en la actividad vitivinícola de Mendoza, Argentina a principios del siglo XX. El análisis cualitativo de documentos ha mostrado que aquellas mujeres que por entonces heredaron establecimientos vitivinícolas al morir sus esposos, actuaron de modo diferente ante dicha situación. El caso de Annie Jane Fraser de Innes resulta particular debido a que se trata de una de las pocas mujeres que, tras enviudar, se puso personalmente al frente de la bodega y viñedos de su difunto marido, sin delegar en terceros su administración |
| English abstract | The goal of this investigation is to study the role performed by a group of women in wine - making industry of Mendoza, Argentina at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. The qualitative documents analysis shows that those women who inherited wine - making establishments when they became widows at the beginning of Twentieth Century acted in different ways. The case of Annie Jane Fraser Innes results particular because she was one of the few women that personally managed his deceased husband ́s winery and vineyards without male help |
