| English abstract | In Medellín, the migration of Venezuelan families has increased, whose mental health has been studied in terms of its problems and pathologies, but mental health addresses more than its negative meaning. The objective of this article is to identify the discursive practices on mental health, according to the perspective of migrant mothers living in the La Iguaná neighborhood. A constructionist study was carried out, supporting mental health as a dimension of social relations, in the gender approach and in the perspective of discursive practices and production of meanings. Using the snowball technique, 20 women were gathered into two discussion groups. Thematic categorical analysis was used to interpret the information, with three categories standing out: mental health associated with cognitive, psychological and relational capacities of mothers; relations and territory; and affiliate relationships. It is concluded that the social and affiliate relationships in the participants support a mental health that broadens the psychopathological vision to which the studies that reduce the migrant condition to a diagnosis tend to; allowing people to be seen in their links and to conceive health care from other points of view, different from that of the disease. |
| Spanish abstract | En Medellín ha aumentado la migración de familias venezolanas, cuya salud mental se ha estudiado en cuanto a sus problemas y patologías, pero la salud mental aborda más que su sentido negativo. El objetivo de este artículo es identificar las prácticas discursivas sobre salud mental, según la perspectiva de madres migrantes residentes en el barrio La Iguaná. Se hizo un estudio construccionista, soportando la salud mental como dimensión de las relaciones sociales, en el enfoque de género y en la perspectiva de las prácticas discursivas y producción de sentidos. Mediante la técnica de la bola de nieve fueron reunidas 20 mujeres en dos grupos de discusión. Se usó el análisis categorial temático para la interpretación de las informaciones, sobresaliendo tres categorías: salud mental asociada a capacidades cognitivas, psicológicas y relacionales de las madres; relaciones y territorio; y relaciones filiales. Se concluye que las relaciones sociales y filiales en las participantes sostienen una salud mental que amplía la visión psicopatológica a la que tienden los estudios, que reducen la condición de migrante a un diagnóstico; permitiendo ver a las personas en sus vínculos y concebir la atención en salud desde otros puntos de vista, distintos al de la enfermedad. |
