| Spanish abstract | Este trabajo investigativo, se enfoca en identificar los elementos dinamizadores de la agroindustria cacaotera ecuatoriana. Para ello, se efectuó un estudio documentalno experimental, apoyado en bases informativas del Banco Central del Ecuador, el Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería, el Ministerio de Producción, Comercio Exterior, Inversiones y Pesca, la Asociación Nacional de Exportadores de Cacao, la Organización Internacional del Cacao y la FAO. También fue necesaria la revisión de avances de investigación sobre agroindustriales cacaoteras efectuadas desde instituciones académicas y de especialidad, de aquí, se obtuvieron datos de estudio relevantes que fueron tratados y representados en gráficos y tablas que ilustran la comprensión del comportamiento de dicho sector en mercados internacionales y nacionales. Los resultados de la investigación señalan que la dinámica agroindustrial cacaotera en el contexto internacional y nacional ha sufrido desafíos socioeconómicos, políticos, naturales, tecnológicos, de mercado, esto no ha significado estancamiento, pero si limitaciones para ser competitivos desde la diversificación de sus derivados; además la variedad y calidad del cacao les ha permitido mantenerse en el mercado. Se concluye que la dinámica agroindustrial del sector cacaotero ecuatoriano, puede decrecer sino articula un sistema de trazabilidad que aproveche los recursos y capacidades institucionales, donde la actuación gubernamental oportuna a través de las relaciones internacionales y la generación de la política pública favorezcan la competitividad y sostenibilidad del sector |
| English abstract | This investigative work focuses on identifying the dynamic elements of the Ecuadorian cocoa agribusiness. For this, a non-experimental documentary study was carried out, the information bases of the Central Bank of Ecuador, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries, the National Association of Cocoa Exporters were used, The International Cocoa Organization, FAO, as well as a review of research progress on cocoa agribusiness carried out by academic and specialty institutions, from which relevant study data were obtained, which were treated and represented in graphs and tables that illustrate the understanding of the behavior of this sector in international and national markets. The results of the research indicate that the cocoa agro-industrial dynamics in the international and national context have suffered socioeconomic, political, natural, technological, and market challenges, this has not meant stagnation, but it has meant limitations to be competitive from the diversification of its derivatives; In addition, the variety and quality of the cocoa has allowed them to stay on the market. It is concluded that the agro-industrial dynamics of the Ecuadorian cocoa sector may decrease if it does not articulate a traceability system that takes advantage of institutional resources and capacities, where timely government action through international relations and the generation of public policy favor the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector |
