| Spanish abstract | El artículo analiza el proceso de inserción de la mujer en la vida guerrillera en contextos de confrontación armada en América Latina. Discute la incidencia de una cultura patriarcal en la violencia sexual sistemática y generalizada propinada a estas mujeres y a todas aquellas que se creían cercanas a los grupos guerrilleros. El trabajo realiza un paneo general, enfatizando las similitudes y diferencias de la violencia sexual en el contexto de la guerrilla. Además, discute la tensión entre la represión de género por un lado, y, por otro lado, el salto cultural que tuvieron que dar estas mujeres en sus respectivos entornos socio-políticos para engrosar las filas guerrilleras |
| English abstract | The article analyzes the process of insertion of women in guerrilla in contexts of armed confrontation in Latin America. It discusses the incidence of a patriarchal culture in systematic and generalized sexual violence propounded to guerilla women and to all those believed to be close to the guerrilla groups. It offers a general overview on the issue, highlighting the similarities and differences of sexual violence in the contest of guerilla warfare. Furthermore, it discusses the tension between gender related repression on the one hand, and, on the other hand, the cultural leap that these women experienced while inserting into the guerilla |
