| Spanish abstract | Este texto forma parte de un trabajo más amplio. En realidad, es un texto en transición. Algunos fragmentos acompañan un trabajo ya acabado, que será publicado muy pronto. Otros pedazos son el germen de un proyecto de investigación de largo aliento que acabo de echar a andar, y cuyo objetivo es realizar un mapa de los cambios ocurridos durante el siglo XX en el espacio de la cultura y la comunicación en Venezuela, como resultado de la aparición y desarrollo de la industria del petróleo. En ambos casos, pretendo observar cómo ocurre la rearticulación de las estructuras culturales y comunicacionales tras un acelerado proceso de incorporación a la modernidad. Con este objetivo, persigo identificar los flujos y traspasos que en los ámbitos de la sociedad, la cultura y la comunicación estuvieron determinados por la expansión del enclave petrolero, en el marco de la fase de la globalización referida a las fuentes de energía, combustibles y aceleración de la movilidad, que siguió desde mediados del siglo XIX y comienzos del XX a la de industrialización regida por la máquina de vapor |
| English abstract | This text is part of a larger work. In fact, it is a text in transition. Some accompany a finished work, which will be published very soon. Other pieces are the germ of a long breath that I just jump-start research project, and whose objective is to make a map of the changes that have occurred during the 20th century in the space of culture and communication in Venezuela, as a result of the emergence and development of the oil industry. In both cases, I intend to observe how it occurs the rearticulation of cultural and communicational structures after an accelerated process of incorporation into modernity. With this objective, I pursue to identify flows and transfers that were determined by the expansion of the oil enclave, within the framework of the phase of globalization referred to sources of energy, fuels and acceleration of the mobility that followed since the mid-19th century and early 20th to the industrialization governed by the steam engine in the fields of society, culture and communication |
