| Spanish abstract | En la presente investigación se estudia el fallido Concordato de 1862 que intentó cambiar la Ley de Patronato mediante la cual el Estado regía todas las actividades de la Iglesia Católica venezolana. Las ideas sustentadas por la institución religiosa y los argumentos de la comisión nombrada por el Congreso de la Federación, así como los focos de conflicto ideológico que impidieron llegar a concretar la autonomía entre los dos poderes son los aspectos desarrollados en el presente trabajo |
| English abstract | In this research study the Concordat of 1862 that failed tried to change the Law of Patronage by the State which governs all activities of the Catholic Church in Venezuela. The ideas supported by religious institutions and the arguments of the commission appointed by the Congress of the Federation, and ideological sources of conflict that prevented reaching to concrete the autonomy between the two powers are the aspects developed in this paper |
