| Spanish abstract | El trabajo presenta los resultados de una investigación sobre factores ambientales que impactan elespacio –entre edificios– de conjuntos urbanos (CU), en Maracaibo (Venezuela). La metodología se estruc-turó en tres fases: Selección de caso de estudio (CU); 2. Identificación de las variables urbano-ambientalesque impactan el ambiente construido en clima cálido-húmedo y 3. Análisis-evaluación de la condición tér-mico-ambiental del CU, producto de la interacción-contrastación entre variables –clima, morfología urba-na– y actividades de los usuarios y percepciones. Se aplicaron diferentes instrumentos de observación, re-gistro y mediciones de temperatura, humedad, ventilación y vegetación y entrevistas a usuarios. Los re-sultados obtenidos se relacionaron con el Modelo de Confort Local y los datos de los usuarios a fin de de-terminar los niveles de confort. Se concluye señalando los altos niveles de afectación térmica en el espacioestudiado –por debajo de las bandas de los límites de confort– que afectan su uso por los residentes |
| English abstract | The paper presents the results of an investigation on environmental variables that impact the space–between buildings– in urban housing developments (UHD), in Maracaibo (Venezuela). The methodologywas structured in three phases: 1. Study case selection (UHD); 2. Identification of the environmental vari-ables that impact the quality of the built environment, in a hot and humid climate and, 3. Analysis-evalua-tion of environmental conditions of UHD, through the interaction of the variables –climate, urban mor-phology– with user’s activities and perceptions. Different instruments were applied, observation, registra-tion and measurement of temperature, humidity, ventilation and vegetation as well as users and residentsinterviews. The resulting values were correlated with the Local Comfort Model and users’ data to deter-mine the comfort levels. The paper concludes pointing out high levels of thermal affectation in the studiedspace –beyond the comfort band– that affects its usage by the residents |
