| Spanish abstract | Los estudios acerca del comportamiento electoral de los mexicanos han evidenciado que a mayor urbanización o mayor modernización, los ciudadanos tienden a votar más por los partidos de oposición y menos por el PRI, es decir que existen pruebas de que la variable urbana influye sobre al menos una parte de la cultura política --el voto-- y puede suponerse que también ocurre lo mismo en otras dimensiones. En este artículo se describe la cultura política en seis ciudades y tres municipios conurbados a grandes metrópolis, en un intento por demostrar si ocurren variaciones en función de su desarrollo |
| English abstract | The outcome of the recent Mexican electoral process shows that the higher the degree of urbanization or modernization of the citizens, their tendency to vote in favour of the opposition parties and more against the one in office --the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI)-- is clearer: in other words, there is evidence in the sense that an urban environment has some impact on at least a portion of the citizenship's political culture: the vote, and thus it can be assumed that the same happens in other fields. This research describes the political culture in six cities and three conurbated municipalities in an attempt to find any variation in terms of their development |
