| Spanish abstract | Existe un componente agentivo (habitus profesional) que reproduce la estructura del campo médico a través de mecanismos institucionales como la referencia y contrarreferencia de pacientes a través de los niveles de atención médica, los cuales mantienen una dialéctica con las jerarquías por especialidades. Con la analogía de juego de Bourdieu, este artículo analiza testimonios de médicos sobre la presión del sistema para especializarse; sobre la operación de los médicos de primer y segundo nivel, y sobre las interacciones entre médicos de diferentes niveles. Se muestra que con ello se asegura el funcionamiento y la reproducción de la estructura del campo en su conjunto |
| English abstract | There is an agentive component (professional habitus) that reproduces the structure of the medical field through institutional mechanisms such as the referral and counter-referral of patients between levels of healthcare, which maintain a dialectic relationship with the hierarchies of specialties. Using Bourdieuʼs game analogy, this article analyses medical testimonies about the pressure of the system to specialize; on the work of first and second level doctors, and on the interactions between doctors working at different levels. These elements ensure the operation and reproduction of the structure of the field |
