Spanish abstract | Los hemangiomas infantiles son tumores benignos frecuentes en la infancia. Su incidencia se estima en 1-3% de los neonatos, llegando al 10% en menores de un año. Caso clínico: Paciente que desde el nacimiento presentó una lesión elevada única, protuberante, de bordes defi nidos, rojo brillante, en el pabellón auricular izquierdo, que se tornó más evidente a los tres meses de edad, y con crecimiento a una velocidad mayor respecto al crecimiento de la paciente, abarcando todo el pabellón auricular, con ulceraciones y sangrado en múltiples ocasiones. Ingresó a urgencias con datos de choque hipovolémico; fue tratada con cristaloides, transfusión de concentrado eritrocitario e inicio de propanolol. Fue intervenida quirúrgicamente a la edad de dos años 10 meses, sin complicaciones. Discusión: Casos de hemangioma, como el de la presente paciente requieren un abordaje y tratamiento multidisciplinario dado el tamaño, sitio de localización y alto riesgo de secuelas |
English abstract | Infantile hemangiomas are frequent benign tumors in childhood. In newborns its incidence is estimated at 1-3%, reaching 10% in children under one year. Case report: Female patient, who from the birth she had a single raised, protruding lesion, with sharp edges, bright red, on the left ear. This lesion became more evident at three months of age, with a faster growth rate compared to the patient's growth, covering the entire ear; on multiple occasions she presented ulcerations and bleeding. She was admitted to the emergency department with hypovolemic shock data; and she was treated with crystalloids, transfusion of erythrocyte concentrate, and treatment with propanolol was started. She underwent surgery at the age of two years 10 months without complications. Discussion: Hemangioma cases, such as this patients require multidisciplinary treatment approach, given the size, site location and high risk of sequelae |
