| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo aborda el tema de las protestas en el Zócalo de la Ciudad de México durante el contexto electoral de 2009, como una práctica naturalizada y que adquiere significados localizados y particulares, respecto de lo que representa ese escenario, para los movimientos sociales que se manifiestan allí. Desde 1968, —con las manifestaciones de los estudiantes universitarios y su irrupción en el Zócalo—, surge una nueva cultura de la protesta y, con ella, nuevas representaciones sociales emergen respecto de ese lugar. Algunas de ellas se mantienen y cobran fuerza, otras se transforman dando paso a la emergencia de nuevas representaciones. El Zócalo de la Ciudad de México ya sería inimaginable sin la presencia de grupos que se manifiestan en él. No obstante, y aunque lleguen a naturalizarse ese tipo de prácticas, surgen las interrogantes: ¿por qué protestar en el Zócalo capitalino?; ¿es eficaz en la resolución de demandas?; ¿qué representa para los grupos que lo usan y frecuentan? Para responder a estas interrogantes, el camino teórico y metodológico fue estudiar la protesta a partir de la teoría de las representaciones sociales como categoría, para entender qué representa ese espacio de la ciudad para los ciudadanos que lo usan para protestar |
| English abstract | This work approaches to the topic of the protests in the Zócalo of the Mexico City in 2009, as a naturalized practice and that acquires located meanings, respect of what represents this scene, for the social movements that demonstrate there. From 1968, with the protests of the university students and his irruption in the Zócalo, a new culture of the protest arises and, with it, new social representations emerge with regard to this place. Some of them are kept and gather strength, others transform giving step to the emergency of new representations. The Zócalo of the Mexico City already would be inconceivable without the presence of groups protesting there. Nevertheless, and though this type of practices manage to be naturalized, some questions arise on, Why to protest in the Zócalo? Is it effective in the resolution of demands? What does it represent for the groups that use and frequent it? To answer questioning these, the theoretical and methodological way was to study the protest from the theory of the social representations as category to deal, what represents this space of the city for the citizens who use it to protest |
