| English abstract | The study deals with how a simple cause for heretical blasphemy becomes entangled and turns the inmate, Gaspar de Villafranca, into an informer for the service of the Holy Office of Mexico. While the various phases of the endless process are detailed, an approach is made to a very important issue such as the legal and doctrinal framework of that crime. |
| Spanish abstract | El estudio se ocupa de analizar cómo una simple causa por blasfemia herética se enreda y convierte al reo, Gaspar de Villafranca, en un delator al servicio del Tribunal del Santo Oficio de México. Al mismo tiempo que se detallan las diversas fases del inacabable proceso, se realiza una aproximación a un tema de mucho calado, como es el marco legal y doctrinal de aquel delito. |
