Spanish abstract Patronato Oro C2008 es una variedad de trigo cristalino (Triticum turgidum ssp. durum) desarrollada en el Campo Experimental Norman E. Borlaug (CENEB) a través de un proyecto colaborativo entre el Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales Agrícolas y Pecuarias y el Centro Internacional de Maíz y Trigo. Su hábito de crecimiento primaveral y resistencia a las razas de la roya prevalecientes en el noroeste de México favorecen su cultivo en las áreas productoras de los estados de Sonora, Baja California, Sinaloa y Baja California Sur. Experimentalmente se identifica como la resultante del cruzamiento SULA/ AAZ_5//CHEN/ALTAR84/3/AJAIA_ 12/F3 LOCAL(SEL. ETHIO.135.85)//PLATA_13/4/ARMENT//SRN_3/ NIGRIS_4/3/CANELO_9.1 con la historia de selección CDSS02Y00390S-0Y-0M-8Y-0M. Patronato Oro cuenta con el registro TRI-110-240209 del Catalogo Nacional de Variedades Vegetales del Servicio Nacional de Inspección y Certificación de Semillas. Su rendimiento de grano promedió 5.5 t ha-1 en siembras experimentales manejadas con tres riegos de auxilio, sembradas entre el 15 de noviembre y el 01 de enero entre los ciclos 2006-2007 y 2008-2009. En parcelas con agricultores cooperantes del sur de Sonora, Patronato Oro C2008 promedio 7.2 t ha-1 en el ciclo agrícola 2008-2009, por lo que representa una nueva opción de trigo cristalino para los agricultores del noroeste del país. Sin embargo, el principal atributo de esta variedad está representado por su elevado índice de pigmento, 28.4 puntos, estimado en el colorímetro Minolta
English abstract Patronato Oro C2008 is a variety of durum wheat (Triticum turgidum ssp. durum) developed in Norman E. Borlaug Experiment Station (CENEB) through a collaborative project between the National Research Institute for Forestry, Agriculture and Livestock (INIFAP) and the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT). Its growth habit during spring and resistance to prevalent races of rust in the northwest Mexico, favor the crop producing areas in the States of Sonora, Baja California, Sinaloa and Baja California Sur. Experimentally it's identified as the resultant of the crossing SULA/ AAZ_5//CHEN/ALTAR84/3/AJAIA_12/F3LOCAL(SEL. ETHIO. 135.85)//PLATA_13/4/ARMENT//SRN_3/ NIGRIS_4/3/CANELO_9.1 with the historical selection of CDSS02Y00390S-0Y-0M-8Y-0M. Patronato Oro has the registration number 110-240209 of the National Catalogue of Plant Varieties of the National Seed Inspection and Certification. Its grain yield averaged 5.5 t ha-1 in experimental plots managed with three auxiliary irrigations, planted between November 15th and January 1st between, 2006- 2007 and 2008-2009 cycles. In plots with farmer cooperators in southern Sonora, Patronato Oro C2008 averaged 7.2 t ha-1 in 2008-2009 growing season, so it represents a new option for durum wheat farmers in the northwest.
