| Spanish abstract | La acuacu1tura consiste en la producei6n de cualquier ser vivo en el medio acuático y surge como 1m sector productivo primario paralelo a la agricultura y ganadería. Este sector es el de mayor crecimiento nivel mumdial de toda la economía en los últimos 10 años, incluyendo a la electrónica y cibernética. La producción acuícola es estratégica en el combate contra el hambre, crea empleos y por la demanda de insumos dinamiza el mercado interno, por lo tanto presenta un gran impacto social. Por su amplia gama de tecnologías y siatemas que van desde las unidades familiares de traspatio hasta las comerciales altamente tecnificadas e intensivas, la acuacultura es rentable y 1m buen negocia rural, en donde existen las condiciones para ello. México por sus características físicas, naturales y sociales, así como su posición geográfica posee todas las condiciones necesarias y suficientes para tener un liderazgo mundial en este sector. | English abstract | The aquaculture activity is the production of any living organism on the water, and it is a primary sector similar to agricu1ture and livestock production. It shows the fastest economic grow in the world economy for the last 10 years, inc1uding electronics and software. This sector is the key to the fight against hungry, creates jobs and due to demand for inputs encourages the domestic market. Then, it shows a great social impact. The aquaculture can be carried out with different technologies, is profitable and good rural business. México shows material, natural and social characteristics to reach the world leaderships.
