| Spanish abstract | Al iniciarse la década de 1910, el país tenía 15 millones de habitantes; para 1920 eran 14 millones, descenso que obedeció a muertes por el movimiento armado, por enfermedades infectocontagiosas y por hambre. En los años previos a la Revolución, el gobierno de Porfirio Díaz complementó los hospitales públicos (creados durante el virreinato), de beneficencia privada, particulares, militares, de ferrocarrileros y de los mineros con otros hospitales públicos, en particular tipo “pabellonal”. Durante la Revolución se fortalecieron o crearon las llamadas “cruces”, servicios de urgencias traumatológicas que dispusieron de hospitales de “sangre”. | English abstract | This paper presents the situation of the Mexican hospitals from 1910 to 1920, times of the Mexican Revolution at that time the country had 15 million inhabitants. After the Revolution there were 14 million, the reduction casualities caused deaths by the armed movement, infected-contagious diseases and hunger. In the previous years to the Revolution during the government of Porfirio Díaz, Mexico had public hospitals (originated in the viceroyalty), non profit hospitals, private hospitals, military hospitals, for the railroad workers, and hospitals for miners. In the last period of the government of Porfirio Diaz public hospitals, “pavillon” type were constructed. During the Revolution were war hospitals created or fortified the emergency services.
