Spanish abstract | Introducción: se considera como estilos de vida a los patrones de conducta elegidos de alternativas disponibles y que pueden o no afectar la salud. En esta investigación se evalúa la calidad de vida y los estilos de vida en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Métodos: estudio transversal de 150 pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 provenientes de unidades de medicina familiar del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social en Querétaro. Resultados: 45.3 % mujeres y 54.7 % hombres, edad de 53.5 ± 6.6 años, 72.7 % entre los 50 y 59 años; 8 ± 2.08 años de evolución de la enfermedad; 84 % no perteneció a grupos de apoyo. Los dominios del estilo de vida que requieren atención fueron actividad física (48.1 %), autoestima (57.8 %), autopercepción (68.3 %), dieta (68.7 %) y apego terapéutico (73.5 %). Los dominios de la calidad de vida afectados fueron físicos, relaciones sociales y medio ambiente; la espiritualidad obtuvo la mayor puntuación. Conclusiones: no existe adherencia a grupos de apoyo. Los programas deben considerar la edad y el nivel socioeconómico. Falta mejorar la actividad física, la autoestima, la dieta y el apego terapéutico, así como la independencia-ambiente y el dominio físico |
English abstract | Background: diabetes mellitus type 2 (DM2) is the main cause of morbi-mortality, and disability in our country. The life style (LS) is the pattern of conduct that can or cannot affect the health; LS influences on the DM2 incidence and affects the quality of life of the diabetic patient. The purpose was to evaluate the quality and LS in patients with DM2. Methods: a cross-sectional study in 150 patients with DM2 was carried out. The quality and LS were measured. Results: the sample aged 53.5 ± 6.6 years, 72.7 % aged 50 to 59 years; 45.3 % were women; an average of 8 ± 2.08 years in the disease’s evolution was found. The 84 % belonged to a supporting group, 8.7 % were in SODHI groups and 7.3% to other group. The affected domains of LS were physical activity (48.1 %), Selfesteem (57.8 %), Self-perception (68.3 %), Diet (68.7 %) and attachment to the treatment (73.5 %). The most affected domains of quality of life were physical, social relations and environmental. Spirituality and believes obtained greater qualifications. Conclusions: there was little adhesion to support groups. It is necessary to improve life styles on physical activity, self-esteem, diet and attachment to the treatment |
