| Spanish abstract | A finales del siglo 20se desarrolló en Chile una perspectiva teórico-metodológica–donde confluyen la teoría de sistemas y la fenomenología–para comprender e investigar el hábitat residencial. Proponemosque la teoría de sistemas contribuyó con la semántica sistema-entorno a la definición de los niveles y dimensiones del sistema vivienda (también sistema o hábitat residenciales) en la propuesta desarrollada por Instituto de la Vivienda de la Universidad de Chile. Dicha propuesta mantuvo una apertura conceptual a la noción de ‘lugar’, la cual es una referencia clave en la teoría de la arquitectura. Este artículo concluye describiendolas bases teóricas de la noción ‘experiencia del habitar la vivienda’y destacando su compatibilidad con la teoría de sistemas |
| English abstract | At the end of 20thcentury was developed atheoretical-methodological perspectivein Chile –where systems theory and phenomenologyconverge–to conceptualize and research residential habitats. We propose that systems theory contributedwith the system/environment semanticsto the definition of levels and dimensions of the so-called housing system (i.e. residentialsor habitats systems) in the proposal developed by the Instituto de la Viviendaof the Universidad de Chile. This proposal was conceptuallyopenedto the notion of ‘place’, which is a key reference to the architecture theory. This article concludes by describing the theoretical basis of thenotionof‘experience of inhabiting houses’and highlighting its compatibility with systems theory |
