| English abstract | Effective management in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), such as the Instituto Tecnológico Liceo Cristiano (ISTLC), is essential for their development in a highly competitive business environment. This article addresses the crucial challenge of HEIs due to the widespread lack of knowledge among internal and external users about the Strategic Plan for Institutional Development (PEDI) and the Annual Operating Plan (AOP). The research seeks to evaluate the level of knowledge and perception of these instruments, identifying their potential impact on participation and collaboration with the ISTLC. Lack of understanding of these strategic plans could result in poor implementation, misalignment of goals, and missed opportunities for the optimal development of the educational institution. The research is justified by addressing this problem in order to strengthen the effectiveness of institutional management in the ISTLC. A quantitative approach and non-randomized sampling techniques were used to collect objective and generalizable data. The research provides valuable information on the level of knowledge and perception of users regarding the PEDI and the POA. This will make it possible to identify areas for improvement in communication and dissemination, design strategies to promote understanding and participation, thus improving the implementation of plans and contributing to a more effective management of the institution. |
| Spanish abstract | La gestión eficaz en las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES), como el Instituto Tecnológico Liceo Cristiano (ISTLC), es fundamental para su desarrollo en un entorno empresarial altamente competitivo. Este artículo aborda el desafío crucial de las IES por la falta de conocimiento generalizado entre usuarios internos y externos sobre el Plan Estratégico de Desarrollo Institucional (PEDI) y el Plan Operativo Anual (POA). La investigación busca evaluar el nivel de conocimiento y percepción de estos instrumentos, identificando su impacto potencial en la participación y colaboración con el ISTLC. La falta de comprensión de estos planes estratégicos podría resultar en una implementación deficiente, desalineación de objetivos y pérdida de oportunidades para el desarrollo óptimo de la institución educativa. La investigación se justifica al abordar este problema para fortalecer la efectividad de la gestión institucional en el ISTLC. Se utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo y técnicas de muestreo no aleatorias para recopilar datos objetivos y generalizables. La investigación proporciona información valiosa sobre el nivel de conocimiento y percepción de los usuarios respecto al PEDI y el POA. Esto permitirá identificar áreas de mejora en la comunicación y difusión, diseñar estrategias para promover la comprensión y participación, mejorando así la implementación de los planes y contribuyendo a una gestión más efectiva de la institución. |
