| Spanish abstract | El tema salud ambiental tiene un crecimiento significativo en la producción científica internacional. El objetivo de este trabajo fue caracterizar la generación de documentos científicos en el tema de la salud ambiental para América Latina en un periodo de diez años. La metodología consistió en la utilización de técnicas bibliométricas. Los resultados muestran que hay 1219 documentos sobre el tema. De estos, el 83,23 % lo produjo Brasil, México, Argentina, Chile y Colombia. El idioma preferente de publicación fue el inglés, con un 81,30 %, el español y el portugués comparten cifras iguales, con una presencia del 9,11 %. La tipología encontrada señala que el 72,11 % corresponde a artículos en revistas, el 14,27 % a actas de congresos y el 10,05 % a artículos de revisión. Se destaca que todos los países producen con colaboración más del 60 %. Otros indicadores reportan que Chile tiene el mejor promedio de citas por documento, con 8,02 % |
| English abstract | The environmental health subject has a significant growth in the international scientific production. The aim of this study was to characterize the generation of scientific papers in the field of environmental health for Latin America, over a period of 10 years. The methodology involved the use of bibliometric techniques. The results show that there are 1219 documents on the topic. Of these, 83.23% were produced by Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia. The preferred language of publication is English, with 81.30% of the items, Spanish and Portuguese share equal figures, with a presence of 9.11%. The typology found indicates that 72.11% of the items were journal articles, 14.27% conference proceedings and 10.05% review articles. It is emphasized that all countries produce more than 60%. Other indicators show that Chile has the best average in citations per document, 8.02% |
