| English abstract | The environment, protection, care and maintenance is one of the main tasks to which the Cuban state provides a marked interest in order to preserve the survival of the human species, traditions and culture of the peoples. To achieve this plays a decisive role in environmental education, and therefore the knowledge that children, youth and the general population have obtained; thereby students that are formed in the specialty of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the University of the Medical Sciences, to them as health professionals must control demonstrating that affect the environment by the repercussion that has the deterioration in the human health. |
| Spanish abstract | El medio ambiente, su protección, cuidado y conservación constituye una de las principales tareas a la que el estado cubano le presta un marcado interés en función de preservar la supervivencia de la especie humana, las tradiciones y la cultura de los pueblos. Para lograrlo juega una función determinante la educación ambiental, y por consiguiente el conocimiento que tengan los niños, jóvenes y población general; a ello se suman los estudiantes que se forman en la especialidad de Higiene y Epidemiología de las Universidades de Ciencias Médicas, a ellos como profesionales de la salud les corresponde controlar las manifestaciones que afectan el medio ambiente por la repercusión que tiene el deterioro del mismo en la salud humana. |
