| English abstract | A literature review integrates on esophageal cancer in the general teaching hospital Guantanamo published articles including the last 15 years with the aim of gathering information on this entity as well as essential aspects such as diagnosis, classification, adjuvant treatment and neo among other factors most involved risk alcohol, snuff, sequelae of caustic injury and Barrett's esophagus stand; esophageal cancer remains among the most aggressive tumors of the digestive tract, and its poor prognosis is due to its late diagnosis. |
| Spanish abstract | Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica integra sobre cáncer esofágico en el hospital general docente de Guantánamo en artículos publicados que incluye los últimos 15 años con el objetivo de recopilar información sobre esta entidad, así como aspectos esenciales tales como: diagnóstico, clasificación, tratamiento adyuvante y neo adyuvante entre otros, dentro de los factores de riesgo más implicados se destacan el alcohol, tabaco, secuelas de lesiones cáusticas y el esófago de Barret; el cáncer esofágico se mantiene entre las neoplasias más agresivas del tracto digestivo, y su mal pronóstico se debe a su diagnóstico tardío. |
