| English abstract | The paper tries to articulate Marshall McLuhan’s thought with the live cinema to think about the actual configuration of cinematographic art discussing themes as performance and memory. We wish by reading the relation between medium and message and from other moments of McLuhan’s work to understand live cinema through the theories of the centenarian canadian author. Proving that more and more the content of a medium is other medium, live cinema understands that cinema is fundamentally a projection in a screen and makes McLuhan become an important conceptual character to capture this new audiovisual practice |
| Portuguese abstract | O artigo pretende articular o pensamento de Marshall McLuhan com o live cinema para refletir sobre a atual configuração da arte cinematográfica discutindo temas como performance e memória. Deseja-se a partir da leitura sobre a relação meio e mensagem e de outros momentos da obra de McLuhan compreender o live cinema a luz das teorias do centenário autor canadense. Provando mais e mais que o conteúdo de um meio é outro meio, o cinema ao vivo entende que o cinema é fundamentalmente uma projeção em uma tela e faz McLuhan tornar-se importante personagem conceitual para captar essa nova prática audiovisual |
