| English abstract | The geographic setting and natural landscape will give the readers a general view of the wide territory of the Maya Area. The three major geographic zones considered under study are mentioned with short descriptions of climate and types of vegetation; and distinct animal species are reviewed, as well as the natural resources available for the ancient maya. Also, it is presented a brief explanation of the stages that maya civilization developed through time |
