| Spanish abstract | La obra del escritor francés Julio Verne (1828-1905) está plagada de contenido criptológico y criptográfico. Más de un siglo después, los estudiosos de su vida y obra han elaborado una gran cantidad de hipótesis que han permitido ir develando el trasfondo de los nombres de los personajes, los lugares y las expresiones usadas por el autor en muchas de sus historias, que para escribirlas utilizaba técnicas tales como los anagramas, los palíndromos, las transposiciones y métodos criptográficos tan antiguos como el cifrado de César o Vigenère, métodos estos últimos que jugaron un importante papel en al menos tres de sus novelas |
| English abstract | The work of French writer Jules Verne (1828-1905) is loaded with a full bunch of cryptographic and cryptological content. A century later, his scholars have elaborated a great number of new hypothesis dealing with the inside vision of the name of his characters, the places he described, and the expressions he used in many of his stories, using, by the time he was writing, some known techniques such as anagrams, palindromes, permutations and cryptographical methods as older as the cipher of Cesar or Vigenère, being these latter ones the ones that play an important role in, at least, three of his stories |
