| Spanish abstract | Los grandes tumores de la pared torácica requieren de resecciones amplias; la reconstrucción debe mantener la estabilidad de la pared torácica para evitar complicaciones respiratorias. Se presenta el caso de un paciente de 53 años a quien se resecó condrosarcoma gigante de la pared torácica. La pared se reconstruyó con metilmetacrilato incorporado entre dos mallas de polipropileno (prótesis en sándwich). Doce meses después los resultados oncológico, anatómico, funcional y cosmético siguen siendo satisfactorios |
| English abstract | Chest wall tumors require wide resections; the repair should maintain chest wall stability to avoid respiratory complications. A 53 year old man underwent resection of a giant chest wall chondrosarcoma. The chest wall was repaired with a sandwich prosthesis made of methylmethacrylate within a double layer of polypropylene mesh. One year later the patient is in satisfactory oncologic, anatomic, functional and cosmetic conditions |
