| Spanish abstract | Las organizaciones criminales mutaron de convencionales a digitales, debido al nuevo paradigma tecnológico y a la globalización. Esto las transforma en un importante reto para los Estados nacionales. Este artículo analiza las organizaciones criminales digitales desde la óptica del Estado e intenta abordar qué son, cómo funcionan y por qué se desarrollan o se reducen. La finalidad es comprender mejor el objeto y analizar sus debilidades. Conocerlas es el primer paso para desarrollar estrategias y herramientas públicas para enfrentar el desafío que representan para la paz y la democracia |
| English abstract | Criminal organizations have mutated from conventional to digital, due to the new technological paradigm and globalization. This turns them into an important challenge for the national States. This article analyzes digital criminal organizations from the perspective of the State and tries to address what they are, how they work and why they develop or shrink. The aim is to better understand the object and analyze their weaknesses. Knowing them is the first step to develop public strategies and tools to face the challenge they represent for peace and democracy |
