| English abstract | The article intends to explore the polysemy of sociological interpretations about violence and its implications for the conformation of the thematic field on the subject in the country. From this perspective, the text seeks to understand, from abibliographical analysis of the international and national literature, the interpretative potential of the different analytical records that investigate the phenomenon. Exploring the forms of violence and sociological interpretations that gained visibility in our last dictatorial period (1964-1985) and in our recent democratic experience, violence can be grasped fromthe obvious, the factual, where actions or behaviors that fit the profile of the disturbance of limits are considered violent, and / or since their meaning, where qualifications and judgments emerge from the relationships that give it shape and expressiveness |
| Portuguese abstract | O artigo pretende explorar a polissemia das interpretações sociológicas acerca da violência e suas implicações para a conformação do campo temático sobre o assunto no país. Nessa perspectiva, o texto busca compreender, a partir de uma análise bibliográfica da literatura internacional e nacional, o potencial interpretativo dos diferentes registros analíticos que se debruçam sobre o fenômeno. Explorando as modalidades da violência e as interpretações sociológicas que ganham visibilidade em nosso último período ditatorial (1964-1985) e em nossa experiência democrática recente, a violência pode ser apreendida desde o evidente, o fatual, onde ações ou condutas que se ajustem ao perfil da perturbação de limites são consideradas violentas, e/ou desde seu significado, onde qualificações e julgamentos emergem a partir das relações que lhe dão formato e expressividade |
