| English abstract | This article reflects aboutthe potential of progressive popular movements to contribute to confronting the advance of the far right in Brazil today. Taking as a historical landmark the period of the contemporary crisis of capital in neoliberalism, the text addresses the 2000s to situate the strengthening of the far right at the international level, particularly in Europe, and points out the main characteristics of this phenomenon in Brazil. Next, the performance of popular movements of a progressive character is analyzed from the perspective of social struggle in this context. In this process, was identified the role that these popular movements have performed in the organization of different segmentsof the dominated; in their performance as subjects of public policies with the State and in the ideological dispute they carry out within society by demonstrating the importance of the social struggle for the conquest of rights |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo reflete sobre a potencialidade dos movimentos popularesde caráter progressistaem contribuírem para o enfrentamento do avanço da extrema direita no Brasil na atualidade.Tendocomo marco histórico o período da crise contemporânea do capital no neoliberalismo,o textoaborda os anos 2000 para situar ofortalecimento da extrema direita em nível internacional, em particular na Europa, e apontaas principais características desse fenômeno no Brasil. Em seguidaanalisaa atuação dos movimentos popularesde caráter progressistasob a ótica da luta social nesse contexto. Nesse percurso foi identificadoo papel que essesmovimentos populares têm desempenhado na organização de diferentes segmentos dos dominados; na atuação enquanto sujeitos de políticas públicas junto ao Estado e nadisputa ideológica que realizam no âmbito da sociedade ao demonstrarem a importância da luta social para a conquista de direitos |
