| English abstract | The research aimed to understand and analyze the context and relationships between the democratic crisis and the intersectionalities of educational exclusion potentialized by COVID-19 in Brazil. The questions are: what are the relationships established between democracy and education in the face of the pandemic?; How has the democratic and social crisis created in Brazil at the time of a pandemic intensified the educational exclusion of children and young students from public schools? Among the sources, bibliographic materials and data from the Brazilian Yearbook of Basic Education were used. It notes that the society project established by the President of the Republic Jair Messias Bolsonaro in 2019 put Brazilian democracy at risk; it instituted financial cuts in education and made social public policies unfeasiblefor students to access and stay in public schools. The most affected by the educational exclusion scenario were black, brown and indigenous children and young people who live in families that receive less than one minimum wage per month, and live in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil |
| Portuguese abstract | A pesquisa objetivou compreender e analisar o contexto e as relações entre crise democrática e as interseccionalidades da exclusão educacional potencializada pela COVID-19 no Brasil. As indagações são: quais as relações estabelecidas entre democracia e educação diante da pandemia?; de que modo a crise democrática e social instaurada no Brasil, em época de pandemia, intensificou a exclusão educacional de crianças e jovens estudantes de escolas públicas? Entre as fontes, a pesquisa utiliza materiais bibliográficos e dados do Anunário Brasileito de Educação Basíca. Constata que o projeto de sociedade estabelecido pelo Presidente da República Jair Messias Bolsonaro a partir de 2019 colocou em risco a democracia brasileira; instituiu cortes financeiros na Educação e inviabilizou políticas públicas sociais para acesso e permanência de estudantes em escolas públicas. Os mais prejudicados pelo cenário de exclusão educacional foram crianças e jovens pretos(as), pardos(as) e indígenas que vivem em famílias que recebem menos de um salário mínimo por mês, e moram nas regiões Norte e Nordeste do Brasil |
