| English abstract | Digital inclusion is part of the ten areas identified by the National Student Assistance Program. This term appeared more frequently on the websites of Federal Institutions of Higher Education during the new coronavirus pandemic. This article seeks to reflect on the digital inclusion actions developed by universities and federal education institutes, before and after the COVID-19 pandemic, especially by the student assistance sectors. A survey was carried out on the websites of the 26 federal education institutions in the Northeast Region, from September 2020 to January 2021. The results showed that the pandemic boosted the development of digital inclusion actions, little developed before that period. The need for advances by institutions to expand the students' repertoire for study in a virtual environment is highlighted |
| Portuguese abstract | A inclusão digital faz parte das dez áreas apontadas pelo Programa Nacional de Assistência Estudantil. Este termo apareceu com mais frequência nos sitesdas Instituições Federais de Educação Superior durante a pandemia do novo coronavírus. Este artigo busca refletir sobre as ações de inclusão digital desenvolvidas pelas universidades e institutos federais de educação, antes e após a pandemia da COVID-19, mormente pelos setores da assistência estudantil. Foi realizado um levantamento nos sites das 26 instituições federaisde educação da Região Nordeste, no período de setembro de 2020 a janeiro de 2021. Os resultados apontaram que a pandemia impulsionou o desenvolvimento de ações de inclusão digital, pouco desenvolvidas antes desse período. Destaca, ainda, a necessidade de avanços, por parte das instituições, na ampliação do repertório dos estudantes para estudo em ambiente virtual |
