| Spanish abstract | En las siguientes páginas haremos notar algunas cuestiones que resultarán importantes al momento de establecer juicios de valor sobre la propuesta estética y narrativa presente en la novela El arpa y la sombra, del escritor cubano Alejo Carpentier. Por tanto, las reflexiones que se presentarán a continuación servirán de apuntes para realizar una relectura de la novela siguiendo propuestas tanto teóricas, como críticas que permiten comprender la intrínseca relación entre la historia y la literatura como espacios vinculantes de la ficción. Asimismo, permitirá al lector sacar sus propias conclusiones acerca de la evolución de los subgéneros de la novela, denominados novela histórica y nueva novela histórica, donde algunos críticos han enmarcado el texto narrativo de Carpentier seleccionado como corpus |
| English abstract | In the following pages, a number of questions will be pointed out that are important when establishing value judgments about the aesthetics and narrative in the novel, El Arpa y la Sombra (The Harp and the Shadow), by the cuban writer, Alejo Carpentier. The thoughts that follow will function as notes for a careful re-reading of that novel, according to theoretical and critical proposals that make it possible to understand the intrinsic relationship between history and literature as connecting spaces for fiction. Likewise, this will allow the reader to reach his/her own conclusions about the evolution of the novel subgenres, called historical novel and new historical novel, where some critics have categorized Carpentier’s narrative text, chosen here as corpus |
