| Spanish abstract | El Archivo Histórico de la Facultad de Medicina preserva en su acervo el “Libro de Matrículas” del Real Colegio de Cirugía, que corresponde a las inscripciones de alumnos en esa institución laica y moderna fundada hacia la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII en la capital novohispana. Este libro contiene los registros de estudiantes desde la apertura del colegio en 1770 hasta el año de 1834, poco después de la reforma médica que reúne la enseñanza de la medicina y la cirugía en una sola institución educativa. A lo largo de este artículo se presenta una descripción y análisis de algunos de los elementos contenidos en el citado documento que representa una fuente primaria de gran interés para el estudio de la historia de la medicina y de la cirugía mexicana |
| English abstract | In its collection the Historical Archive of the Faculty of Medicine preserves the "Book of Enrollment" of the Royal College of Surgery, which has the registration of students in the secular and modern institution founded in the second half of the eighteenth century in New Spain's capital. It contains the records of students from the school´s opening in 1770 until 1834, shortly after the medical reform that brought together in the same institution the teaching of medicine and surgery. In this article, a description and analysis of some of the elements contained in the prior mentioned book that is a primary source of great interest for the study of the Mexican History of Medicine and Surgery |
