English abstract | Biorremediation is a subject of particular interest at present considering the benefits that it reports to eliminate or mitigate the contamination of the environment. Some bivalve mollusks have been used for this purpose. The objective of this work to was the study of the energy balance on Anadara tuberculosa at different conditions of temperature. The experimental temperature levels were 23, 26, 29 and 32°C under laboratory conditions using respirometric chambers (or boxes) to evaluate the energy balance (P) from different estimates: filtration (TF) and clarification (TC) rates, efficiency of assimilation (EA), consumed energy (C), absorbed energy (A), breathing rates (R) and ammoniacal excretion (U). The TF fluctuated among 0.332 (23°C) and 0.557 L·h -1 ·g -1 (26°C) and the TC varied among 11.556 (23°C) and 20.282 mg·h -1 ·g -1 (26°C). Both rates stayed independent among 26 and 32°C. Although the lowest value in the EA were registered with 26°C (0.273), the highest values in C and A averaged 265.144 and 72.353 J·h -1 ·g -1 respectively. The negative components R and U were of 6.122 and 0.007 J·h-1·g -1 . The energy balance (P) registered under the proven experimental conditions was always positive and independent of the temperature, with values of among 50.055 J·h -1 ·g -1 (29°C) and 67.173 J·h -1 ·g -1 (26°C). The results indicated that A. tuberculosa can be used as a potential candidate for bioremediation of aquaculture effluents |
