| Spanish abstract | HannahArendtexaminaelPactodeMayfloweren su obraOn Revolution.Nuestra investigación se propone mostrar que el Mayflower Compact es para Arendt un caso ejemplar e históricamente emplazado de praxis plural y de poder mancomunado. El Mayflower es un pacto de estilo puritano, que le permite anclar históricamente su propia justificación teórica del valor político de las promesas proferidas entre hombreslibres e iguales. Mostraremos que paraHannah Arendt las promesas, los pactos o las alianzas son la clavepara comprendernosoloel acontecimiento de la fundación, sino también la fuente de la legitimidad de los cuerpos políticos. Asimismo, entendemos que dicho pacto les permitió a los primeros colonos americanos evadir la aporía teórica de lasmentesilustradas y revolucionarias del siglo XVIII; a saber, cómo eludir el círculo vicioso de poderinstituyente y poderinstituido |
| English abstract | In On Revolution, Hannah Arendt examinesthe Mayflower Compact.Ourinquiry seeksto prove that the Mayflower Compact is for Arendt an historically situated, exemplary case of plural power and of action in concert. The Mayflower is a Puritan Agreement that provides an historical anchorfor hertheorical justification ofthe political value ofthe promisesmade and fulfilled by free and equalmen.
