| Spanish abstract | El diagnóstico de la enfermedad de Paget es una afección muy rara que pocos ortopedistas han tenido oportunidad de tratar. El objetivo de este trabajo es describir un caso clínico, así como los hallazgos radiográficos y de laboratorio de esta enfermedad. También se describe la evolución de la paciente posterior a ser intervenida quirúrgicamente con un reemplazo total de cadera no cementada y tratamiento previo a la cirugía con medicamentos como bifosfonatos y paracetamol, y determinaciones seriadas en la sangre de fosfatasa alcalina como parámetro para medir el comportamiento de esta osteopatía |
| English abstract | The diagnosis of the Paget disease is a very rare affection that few orthopedists have opportunity to treat. The objective of this paper is to describe a clinical case, as well as the radiographic and laboratory findings related to this illness. It also describes the evolution of the patient after being surgically intervened with total cement less hip implant and the pre-surgical treatment with drugs such as bisphosphonates and paracetamol, as well as the serial determinations of the alkaline phosphatase in the blood as a parameter to measure the behavior of this osteopathy |
