| Spanish abstract | La migración de personas y comunidades afro, provenientes del Pacifico colombiano hacia Cali, ha sido dilatada y permanente durante las últimas cinco décadas. Este artículo reflexiona acerca de la música de esta región del país como aspecto de persistencia y resiliencia de la cultura de dichos migrantes en su proceso de asentamiento y adaptación a la ciudad. Se parte de la hipótesis que las letras/líricas, los ritmos y las instrumentaciones han contribuido a la conformación de espacialidades que van desde la representación oficial y mediática externa, hasta la resemantización del sentido en las ciudades de arribo y acogida de estos migrantes. Utilizando la Teoría de la Discursividad Social de Verón (1999), y la Teoría de las Mediaciones de Martín-Barbero (1987), se intenta establecer cuáles han sido las condiciones de producción y de reconocimiento de la discursividad propia del proceso de asentamiento de las comunidades negras al entorno caleño, y cómo han funcionado los espacios de mediación social y cultural que contribuyen al imaginario de Cali como capital de la afrocolombianidad. Se concluye que, al ser la cultura oral la práctica de trasmisión del Pacífico colombiano, las líricas musicales serían una forma de heredar valores arraigados ancestralmente en dichos territorios |
| English abstract | The migration of people and communities Afro-Colombian from the Colombian Pacific to Cali has been extensive and permanent during the last five decades. This article reflects on the music of this region of the country as an aspect of persistence and resilience of the culture of this migrants in their process of settlement and adaptation to the city. It is based on the hypothesis that letters/lyrics, rhythms and instrumentation have contributed to the conformation of spatialities that range from official and external media representation, to the resemantization of sense in the cities of arrival and reception of these migrants. By using the Theory of Social Discursivity by Eliseo Verón (1999), and the Theory of Mediations by Jesus Martín-Barbero (1987), it is tried to establish which have been the conditions of production and of recognition of the discursivity of settlement process of the black communities in the Cali environment, and how has contributed the spaces of social and cultural mediation to the cultural imaginary of Cali as the capital of Afrocolombianness. It is concluded that, since oral culture is the transmission practice of the Colombian Pacific, musical lyrics would be a way of inheriting values rooted ancestrally in those territories |
