| English abstract | The first association created the image of the poor and lazy Indian while the second, the image of an oasis thanks to prone-to-work European immigrants. Huarpes and their descendants (the so-called “Adscriptos Huarpes”) had to wait until the second half of the twentieth century to recover rights, starting with the recognition of the ethnic identity. The goal of the article is to reconstruct the important moments of this long-term process.
