| English abstract | This paper presents the results of an assessment on the implementation of interculturality has been carried out in a public higher education institution in Jalisco, Mexico a state located in the western part of the country. Taking the functional and critical models of interculturality as a frame of reference, it is analyzed whether one or the other has been followed in the institution. In addition to contextualizing these two types of interculturality, a proposal is made for a methodological tool called "consensual interview", which is derived from the horizontal methodologies developed within the framework of the so-called southern epistemologies. Also, the main contributions of teachers, researchers, and officials are brought together to draw a pathway to switch from a functional interculturality to a more critical one or a "balance" one, as some of the interviewees put it. In this way, this article aims to contribute both at the methodological level and to the analysis of the type of interculturality that is carried out in the university campus examined. |
| Spanish abstract | En el presente artículo se presentan los resultados de cómo se ha llevado a cabo la implementación de la interculturalidad, en una institución de educación superior pública del Estado de Jalisco, México. Teniendo como marco de referencia la interculturalidad funcional y crítica, se analiza si en la institución se ha seguido uno u otro. Además de contextualizar estos dos tipos de interculturalidad, se hace la propuesta de una herramienta metodológica llamada "entrevista consensuada", que se deriva de las metodologías horizontales desarrolladas en el marco de las llamadas epistemologías del sur. Por último, tomando en cuenta la participación de actores de la institución educativa como docentes, investigadores y funcionarios, se rescatan las principales aportaciones para transitar de una interculturalidad funcional a "otra" que pueda ser crítica, o "equilibrada", como alguno de los entrevistados lo manifiesta. De esta forma, este trabajo busca hacer una contribución tanto a niveles metodológico, como en el examen del tipo de interculturalidad que se da en el centro universitario foco de estudio. |
